Since the late 1990s, Victoria's Secret's Angels have been associated with the company. These ladies, who have featured some of the world's most famous models throughout the years — Gisele Bündchen, Tyra Banks, and Heidi Klum, to name a few — were the faces of Victoria's Secret through its yearly catwalk shows and marketing campaigns. Victoria's Secret has come under increased scrutiny in recent years, with allegations of racism and a lack of diversity leveled against the business. As the #metoo campaign gained steam in 2017, the corporation was shaken by a number of charges of racism, profiling, and discrimination from former workers, prompting a public revelation of a change in corporate rules.

Victoria's Secret announced the introduction of The VS Collective, a partnering initiative that will help create the next generation of Victoria's Secret, according to the company.
Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, soccer player Megan Rapinoe, mental wellbeing supporter Adut Akech, equality activist Amanda de Cadenet, skier and youth and women's sports proponent Eileen Gu, body advocate Paloma Elsesser, and LGBTQ activist and model Valentina Sampaio are among the women involved in the VS Collective. Victoria's Secret will undergo a visual and ethical metamorphosis thanks to the new ambassadors and faces. The first reaction on social media has been encouraging, although some are praising the move, others are wondering if it is too little, too late.

Victoria's Secret stated in February 2022 that it aims to restart its annual runway event, but without its Angels. The VS annual runway was cancelled in 2019 following some controversy.
