Embraced by GenZ and sentimentalized by millennials, Y2K trend is currently in resurgence and from star kids to our favourite singers, everyone's obsessing over it.
But if you're not on Tiktok or Instagram, you're probably wondering what y2k is all about!! Y2K fashion refers to the late 1990s and early-to-mid 2000s fashion trends. The ladies who governed pop culture defined this age. But it's more than just a fad. It's a matter of taste. Clothing and hairstyles, as well as pink, glittery makeup, are bringing millennials and Generation Z closer together. There are plenty of nostalgic elements influencing the Y2K fashion trend, from the 2000 computer bug to the release of Bratz dolls in 2001.

Key Highlights of Y2K trend

Millennials have recently revived a couple of the Y2K fashion styles that are presently fashionable. Wide-leg jeans, sparkly jackets, baby shirts, and velour tracksuits are some of the major elements from the Y2K style that are bigger than others.

Wide Leg Jeans

The early 2000s are likely best recognized for bootcut and low-rise jeans when it comes to denim. Ultra-wide leg jeans were another denim fashion that made a statement at the time. Although today's version of wide-leg denim is less dramatic, it still looks as cool as it used to back in 2000s.

Baby Tees

Some of the cutest fashions from the early 2000s are making a reappearance, including teeny-tiny t-shirts. These shirts are generally cropped above the belly button and have a bigger fit across the chest. Pair these up with bootcut jeans, baggy trousers or pleated skirt for showcasing a perfect "mean girls" look.

Mini Skirts
